You'll perform a variety of routine manual tasks requiring light, medium and heavy physical effort in cleaning and caring for an assigned area including restrooms, and stripping and polishing floors.
Typical tasks assigned to this position include:
Clean, dust, and polish assigned areas including furniture, metal fixtures and equipment Clean floors including wash, strip and wax floors, corridors, stairs and stairwells, vacuum and shampoo carpets Clean and scrub walls, partitions, windows from the inside or outside of buildings and all areas of lavatories and locker rooms including cleaning blood spills and bodily fluids Move furniture and equipment in connection with cleaning activities, meeting set up, or special events Various shifts are available.
Required Qualifications MINIMUM
Qualifications:
There are no education or experience requirements for this class.
Cleaners must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Preferred Qualifications DEPARTMENTAL OPERATING NEEDS:
Ability to perform medium to heavy labor and lifting (a minimum of 50 pounds).
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and stretch for long periods of time.
Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
Ability to use a variety of custodial trade tools and equipment.
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Possession of a high school diploma or GED.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
