5 Geneseo, NY Geneseo, NY Full-time Full-time $40,193 a year $40,193 a year Position Summary HIGHLIGHTS SUNY Geneseo is searching for a new team member to join the School of Business as an Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding).
As one of the first points of contact to the School's office for students, visitors, and faculty, you will contribute to the office's welcoming and helpful environment.
You will perform key office functions including:
data entry mail distribution creating or assisting in the preparation of reports, charts, and graphs ordering office supplies assisting faculty members If you are not eligible by way of the Civil Service list or transfer, you may be eligible to be hired provisionally.
You would need to meet the provisional eligibility minimum qualifications (below) and sit for the Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) exam when it is held.
You will be expected to qualify for the competitive exam, scoring high enough to be reachable to achieve permanent appointment.
If not, you will be removed from the position.
Required Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), SG-09, classified position; OR be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service canvass list for SUNY Geneseo's area location for the Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), SG-09, title; OR be eligible via transfer.
or For Provisional Appointment Eligibility:
one year as a NYS Office Assistant 1; or one year of permanent service in a clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher.
Must be in a state title, not a county or town position.
NYS preferred list candidates have preference.
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated Microsoft Excel skills Experience editing web content Experience in higher education.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
