Student Accounts is responsible for billing and collection of tuition, fees, room rents and meal plans as well as the distribution and refunding of financial aid.
This position plays a vital part of the teams success by providing exceptional customer service.
If you are not eligible by way of the Civil Service list or transfer, you may be eligible to be hired provisionally.
You would need to meet the provisional eligibility minimum qualifications (below) and sit for the Office Assistant 2 (Calculations) exam when it is held.
You will be expected to qualify for the competitive exam, scoring high enough to be reachable to achieve permanent appointment.
If not, you will be removed from the position.
Required Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), SG-09, classified position; OR be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service canvass list for SUNY Geneseo's area location for the Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), SG-09, title; OR be eligible via transfer.
or For Provisional Appointment Eligibility:
one year as an Office Assistant 1; or one year of permanent service in a clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher.
NYS preferred list candidates have preference.
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated communication and organization skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Experience working at a College or University as well as experience working with Banner.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
